Welcome

Life is about experiences and who you share them with…

I was exposed to the great outdoors at an early age going on camping and fishing trips with my brother and father. Over time my love for the outdoors transitioned into hunting. When I was single with no kids life was much easier and I was able to spend way… way more time bowhunting. Then, I got married to the woman who is now my wife and we three kick-ass kids together. I love spending time in the spring turkey hunting with Sara and am excited to teach my children about the outdoors as they get older.

Now let’s get serious. I LOVE bowhunting whitetails and just about everything else that revolves around that species. In the early spring I look for sheds, summer is time to run trail cameras and take inventory of the bucks on the farms I hunt, as well as hanging tree stands and scouting. Then comes the fall. In Iowa, the bowhunting season starts October 1st and goes all the way through January. Due to my father and husband duties, I don’t get to spend as much time in the timber as I used to, but this is a good thing.

Life is about experiences, the people who you share those experiences with, and being able to learn from them if they result in a failure. I am not an expert at anything… expect procrastination and eating Girl Scout cookies. I hope you enjoy this hunting blog and hunting podcast.
